Dalit Protest at Delhi’s Parliament Street With an Eye on 2019 Elections
The Quint’s Abhirup Dam, Esha Paul and The Quint Hindi’s Kaushiky Kashyap reported live from Parliament Street on the protest by Dalit groups, which have organised themselves under an umbrella organisation called the Dalit Swabhiman Sangharsh Samiti.
According to the CSDS, one in every four Dalit voter picked the BJP during the 2014 General Election.
India to Offer Baloch Leaders Asylum; Modi, Prachanda Issue Bilateral Statements
India wants Baloch leaders to formally apply for political asylum and says that if they are to do so, it would be granted to them within a few weeks, reported News18, which says this information comes from top government sources.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Nepal’s Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, also known as Prachanda, issued joint press statements about the bilateral talks they held on Friday. Both emphasised the need for strong Indo-Nepal relations, and the historically strong ties the two countries have shared.
