On 3 August, 2018, MP Dr Shashi Tharoor presented a Private Member’s Bill co-drafted with The Quint to make stalking a non-bailable offence in the Monsoon Session of Parliament.
The proposal is also under consideration by Home Minister Rajnath Singh after meeting with Dr Tharoor to discuss our proposal to amend the law in March 2018.
In Delhi, the Aam Aadmi Party also took cognizance of The Quint’s Talking Stalking campaign and passed a resolution in favour of making stalking a non-bailable offence.
