1. Minimum Income Guarantee to Poor if Congress Comes to Power: Rahul

Congress president Rahul Gandhi announced that his party would ensure a Minimum Income Guarantee for every poor person in the country if it comes to power. He spoke at the 'Kisaan Abhaar Sammelan' in Raipur to thank the people of Chhattisgarh, particularly farmers, for voting the party to power in the state after 15 years. He also distributed farm loan certificates to the some of the beneficiary farmers. There are reports of the Modi government coming up with a version of the direct cash transfer and it may be announced in the forthcoming budget.

2. India Clinch ODI Series With 7-Wicket Victory Over New Zealand

India secured a rare ODI series win in New Zealand after a third dominating performance by Virat Kohli's side gave them a 3-0 lead in the five-match series.

Hardik Pandya made a successful return to cricket from his suspension, picking up two wickets and taking a stunning catch as the Kiwis were bowled out for 243. Mohammed Shami was the pick of the Indian bowlers with figures of 3 for 41. Fifties from Rohit Sharma and captain Kohli then saw India coast to their target, with Ambati Rayudu and Dinesh Karthik too getting important runs to close out a comfortable 7-wicket win.

This is only the second time India have won a bilateral ODI series in New Zealand.

Ramgarh recorded 78.45 percent voter turnout as polling in the Rajasthan bypoll concluded on Monday, 28 January, officials said. In Haryana’s Jind Assembly, over 60 percent polling was recorded till 3 pm on Monday.
