The just-released ‘Gold Tamba’ number from Batti Gul Meter Chalu reminds us of some of Shahid Kapoor’s previous hit numbers like ‘Gandi Baat’ and ‘Saree Ke Fall Sa’. The song has a small-town feel to it - the characters played by Shraddha and Shahid Kapoor are after all, shown to be residents of Uttarakhand’s Tehri.
The song is sung by Nakash Aziz and composed by Anu Malik. The lyrics are penned by Siddharth and Garima. We won’t be surprised if the song’s catchy lines and dance steps become a hit. Listen to it here:
Directed by Shree Narayan Singh, Batti Gul Meter Chalu addresses the electricity deficiency faced by small towns and villages in India and also stars Yami Gautam. The film is set to hit theatres on 21 September.
