Gurdial Kaur, 99, residing in Sangrur, Punjab, and widow of a World War II veteran is fighting for her pension. World War II veteran, Naik Harnam Singh, served for the Myanmar Army and passed away in 2012.
She has been asked by the Army authorities to go to Rangoon to get the records of her husband’s service before she gets the pension. She has finally made an appeal to the Punjab and Haryana high courts.
The Army authorities have been given a notice for April 12.
The widow is anxious about her pension and is facing financial difficulties, but the Adjutant General Branch of Army is not sure on how to process her case.
