It’s been a horrifying year. Many terrible things have happened, from Brexit to Donald Trump, to the killing of Harambe, to the death of Carrie Fischer, Muhammad Ali and David Bowie. Now literally imagining the year as a horror story, Friend Dog Studios, a comedy studio run by Brian Huther, Ben Auxier and Seth Macchi put together a trailer for 2016, replete with classic Hollywood horror film tropes.
The trailer, released on Wednesday, shows a paranormal situation, except there is no ghost element here. Everything WAS paranormal in year 2016.
As ominous music plays in the background, bad things keep on happening, from the phone exploding in the protagonist’s hands to greats falling like nine pins.
“Things have been kinda weird lately,” says a character. To which the other says, “I’m noticing it here too. It’s like things you’d never expect are happening now.” Well, that pretty much sums up 2016 for you.
