MS Dhoni personified the old saying in sport – ‘cometh the hour, cometh the man’ in the first qualifier match between Rising Pune Supergiant and Mumbai Indians in Mumbai on Tuesday.
Dhoni walked out to bat, when Pune were at 89/3 in the 13th over and it was his responsibility to take Pune to a decent total.
He took his time to get going in the beginning. By the time the last two overs arrived, the stage was set for him.
The wicketkeeper-batsman smashed two sixes each off Mitchell McClenaghan and Jasprit Bumrah in the last two overs and helped Pune post a score of 162/4.
He remained unbeaten on 40 runs off 26 balls.
