The Delhi High Court has issued a notice to Aam Aadmi Party legislator Surinder Singh on a petition filed by BJP leader Karan Singh Tanwar.
Tanwar has alleged that Surinder Singh gave wrong information about his educational qualification in the election affidavit.
Delhi Cantt’s MLA Surinder Singh declared in his election affidavit that he completed his BA from Sikkim University. But when we approached the university authorities to confirm this, they denied having any student by his name under any college or course.
– Karan Singh Tanwar, BJP
Refuting the allegation, Surinder Singh declared that his educational qualifications were “unquestionable”.
My educational credentials are unquestionable. I have studied courses equivalent to Ph.D. Will prove them wrong in court.
– Surinder Singh, AAP MLA
Singh is the second AAP MLA after Delhi law minister Jitender Singh Tomar, to face allegations over educational qualifications.
