45-year-old Hans Raj is addicted to eating sand and gravel – finishing a plate of the stuff every day.
Raj first developed a taste for the bizarre ‘snacks’ when he was 20. His habits have earned him the moniker of ‘sandman’ in his neighbourhood. Doctors have suggested his cravings for the mixture of sand and gravel can possibly be attributed to a condition called Pica, an eating disorder which sees sufferers develop appetites for non-edible objects.
Raj claims he has never suffered any health complications from his strange diet.
