On the first day of the Democratic National Convention, Hillary Clinton announced her running mate for the position of Vice President – Tim Kaine.
While there were other choices like Senator Cory Booker and the more radical partnership that could have been, with Senator Elizabeth Warren, Kaine is not such a bad choice. He was one of Obama’s top choices in 2008 and has been endorsed by the White House for Hillary as well.
A friend to India, his state is among the top 10 with the largest Indian population and he is also an active member of the Senate India Caucus, which Clinton is a Co-Chair of. The Indian-Americans are happy with the nomination.
With plenty of experience in his kitty and the white-male-catholic trinity appealing to the conservatives who are iffy about Hillary, he seems to be a fitting choice for VP.
