A pregnant woman in Rayagada district gave birth to her baby in a pickup van as the her husband’s efforts to contact the hospital and call for an ambulance failed while her labour progressed.
After the baby was delivered, the mother and the child were sent to the Kalyansinghpur Community Health Centre (CHC) to provide further health care. Lack of a proper medical care system and communication service account to the death of several mothers and infants every year. (Inputs: ANI)
