Countdown for assembly polls in five states has begun with the announcement of dates for elections by Election Commission. Punjab, Uttarakhand and Goa will undergo elections in a single phase while Manipur will be covered in two phases.
The largest state in India in terms of number of constituencies, Uttar Pradesh, will go to polls in seven phases.
All the parties are gearing for the election ‘dangal’ as the election commission has sounded the poll bugle.
