Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav slammed the Narendra Modi-led union Government, saying that it has imposed a situation of “75% emergency in the country”.

Pointing to the way central agencies are being misused to target the Opposition, Yadav said it seemed that there is an undeclared emergency.

To back his claim, he cited the example of recent I-T raids in Bengaluru against Karanataka Power Minister DK Shivakumar's residence and on a resort where 44 Congress MLAs are staying.

Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, Lalu Prasad Yadav said that the Modi government is trying to threaten the Congress. He said, "According to the BJP, there were 9 crores in the resort. But they didn't find anything".

He also said that the people who are associated with BJP have been roaming free despite being involved in a number of scams.

He spoke about how Pakistan forced Nawaz Sharif to resign after they found out about his involvement in the Panama Papers.

People like Aishwarya Rai, Raman Singh’s son, Amitabh Bachchan etc and 424 other people have been named in the Panama Papers. Despite this, there haven’t been any investigations into the matter.

Earlier on Wednesday, the I-T department raided the house and resort of Karnataka Power Minister DK Shivakumar. On Thursday morning, they raided his father-in-law's house and his property in Delhi.
