US President Donald Trump announced on Friday that America will be pulling out of the Paris Climate Accord, sending ripples across the global community. European Union (EU) slammed the decision while newly elected French President Emmanuel Macron tweeted ‘Make our planet great again’

But president trump didn’t quit the deal because he is a climate change denier. No No. He quit because he claims that the deal is unfair to the US.

I cannot in good conscience support a deal that punishes the US, the world leader in environmental protection, while imposing no meaningful obligation on the world’s leading polluters.
Donald Trump, President, USA

Well Mr Trump, here are some facts. According to the US Environmental Protection Agency and World Resource Institute, America ranks second in global CO2 emissions from fossil fuel combustion and industrial processes.

Trump Blames the Exit on India

‘India makes its participation contingent on receiving billions and billions of dollars in foreign aid
Donald Trump, President, USA

However, total foreign aid to india in 2015 was $3.1 billion and of this, US provided only $100 million. That's just 3.2%. Not so ‘huuuuggeee’ after all.

As far as withdrawal is concerned, then Article 28 of the Paris Accord states that parties can withdraw from the agreement only after three years of signing, and then the withdrawal process will take another year. So since the USA signed the accord on 4 November 2016, the earliest that they can withdraw from the accord is 4 November 2020 – a day after 2020 US presidential elections. So no harm done, I guess.
