Roger Federer fought against all odds and won his 18th Grand Slam after beating Rafael Nadal in the Australian Open final on Sunday.
The five-time Australian Open champion was out of competitive tennis for six months after undergoing a left knee surgery in 2016.
He played the Hopman Cup and then straight away played the first round at Australian Open this year. It has been a dream comeback for Federer.
At the presentation ceremony, Federer said that he hopes to come back to Australia next year, which left a lot of fans in doubt whether Federer is contemplating retirement.
But, he made it clear in the press conference after the match that he is going to continue to play the game.
If I do get injured, you know, maybe if I miss next year, who knows what happens. You never know when your next Grand Slam is going to be, if ever. You never know if you’re going to have an opportunity at this stage. Look, I’ve had a tough year last year.Roger Federer
