Reacting to the Supreme Court’s judgement quashing the 99th Constitutional Amendment Act and the consequent NJAC Act 2014, the Attorney General Mukul Rohatgi said, that it’s flawed and ignores the will of the parliament.
It is a flawed judgement ignoring the unanimous will of the Parliament, half the State Legislatures and the will of the people for transparency in judicial appointments. It is inappropriate to revive the Collegium system. This judgement is not a case for review. The Parliament may take a call, I cannot speak for them.

Union Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said, “The National Judicial Appointments Commission (NJAC) was part of judicial reforms which were exercised after deep consideration.”
On the other hand, Anand Sharma, a senior leader of Congress said that the party welcomes the judgement and hopes that in the future the judicial appointments will be fair and transparent.
