Byblos, Lebanon is illuminated with some very special festive lights. The Lebanese city has a huge ‘smart’ Christmas tree which can be controlled by the public.
Instead of a traditional Douglas Fir or Norwegian Spruce, a massive electric Christmas tree dominates the skyline.
Byblos is proud of its festive decorations – last year’s tree even featured in the Wall Street Journal. This year’s effort stands 35 metres (115 feet) high and 14 metres (46 feet) wide.
