After Google’s I/O 2015 it’s time for Apple’s developers’ conference that will set the agenda for the future of Apple products in the coming years. Tim Cook and his team are all set to unveil new goodies for Apple fans at the annual gathering of developers in San Francisco. Here are the top 5 expected announcements at this years WWDC.
1. Apple Watch Developers Kit
Developers might get a preview of a new software kit for the two-month-old Apple Watch at the Worldwide Developers Conference.
Like other Apple products, the watch’s success will likely hinge on a compelling collection of apps.
But early apps for the timepiece have been tethered to the iPhone, placing some limits on what developers could do.
The expanded software kit should lead to better and faster watch apps.
2. Apple’s Music Streaming Service
Apple might use the June 8 keynote to introduce some competition to Spotify. The company behind the iPod and iTunes has long been a leader in digital music, but it has lost ground in recent years as subscription services such as Spotify have caught on with consumers, so Apple is expected to introduce a new music streaming service.
3. iOS 9
In the keynote session, CEO Tim Cook and other executives are expected to unveil new features in Apple’s operating software for iPhones, iPads and Macintosh computers.
Apple uses its annual World Wide Developers Conference to highlight the software, online services and apps that make those devices indispensable to consumers around the world.
Apple’s iOS 9 will have improvements over the existing iOS 8 and also be a competition to the recently announced Android M. The newer features might also help in knowing what the next iPhone from Apple might have in terms of new features.
4. New Apple TV
Along with a new music service, industry experts had been expecting Apple to announce a new streaming-video package and upgrades for its Apple TV service. Though you might see the announcement happening but the actual product might come by the end of this year.
5. Home Kit and Mac OS X Update
Apple announced Yosemite at last year’s WWDC, this year they might come out with the new Mac OS update which is code-named Gala.
Apple will also come out with updates on HomeKit, an Apple platform for Internet of Things. Apple is likely to talk about the new Home app that will probably be in iOS 9. This is the app that actually lets you control all of your HomeKit-certified products.
