All the owners of Google Nexus 6 smartphone were excited in April 2015, when Google announced its new service Project Fi

Just like Nexus hardware program, Project Fi is an extension where Google will work with leading carriers. Project Fi service requires a special SIM card for your Nexus 6.

Project Fi automatically switches the user between networks depending on which network has a stronger signal strength in the area where the user is. There can be up to two to three networks competing to boost their speeds in areas with low signal strength just to get users on board with them.

Introduction of a service like Project Fi is a win-win situation for mobile data users and companies.

Project Fi also has some advantages for users such as the company will charge consumers only for the data they use in a month and will do away with the monthly fee structure. If users fail to use the complete data that they have paid for, Google will refund the difference.

Users who are on Google’s own MVNO phone service have started receiving invites to join the Project Fi. Other registered users on Project Fi’s website will have to wait a little longer. They are expected to get invites from mid June onwards.

Project Fi is only available in the United States of America now, India will have to wait a little longer for the service to launch.
