Apple’s Jony Ive Promoted to Chief Design Officer

Apple’s Johy Ive Promoted to the position of Chief Design Officer.

His loyalty to Apple has been true and now it seems he is getting the dividends of it. Sir Jony Ive has been promoted to a new designation of Chief Design Officer by Apple’s CEO Tim Cook. His promotion comes into effect from July 1, 2015. He will be handing over his earlier responsibility of industrial design and user interface design to Richard Howarth and Alan Dye.

Howarth is promoted to Vice President of Industrial Design while Dye will take on the new role of Vice President for User Interface Design.

Both will continue to report to Ive.

Howarth has been working on the iPhone since its inception and has served Apple for two decades.

Ive is one of the most iconic and celebrated modern industrial designer. he is pretty influential at Apple inc. Apart from deciding on the look and feel of Apple’s hardware and software in their new products, he also overlooks the kind of design lines that the furniture used inside Apple’s campus, stores, and even the packaging of the products have.
