Airtel Launches Android TV Box for Rs 4,999, Will Rival Jio Link 

Airtel launches its Android TV service in India starting Rs 4,999. Partners with Netflix and Google Play.

Airtel is offering its customers an entertaining and a dhamakedar offer with the launch of its internet TV services. With this service, Airtel is bringing India’s first hybrid DTH STB (set-top-box), which will be powered by Android TV and offer more than 500 TV satellite channels.

According to Airtel, the service has been introduced to bridge the gap between the online and offline space, and also enable an end-to-end entertainment system from a single device.

The set-top-box comes with multiple Android applications like Netflix, YouTube, Google Play Games, Airtel Movies and more, as well as full access to Google Play Store to download your favourite apps or games on to your TV.

Netflix is an integral part of this offering as Netflix co-founder and CEO Reed Hastings was present at the launch to talk about their partnership with Airtel.

Airtel Internet TV has been launched for a price tag of Rs 4,999 for a 3-month digital TV subscription. For people who are looking to avail the introductory offer, they can pay Rs 7,999 and get the Airtel Internet TV with one year subscription. Airtel Internet TV will be available exclusively on Amazon India starting 12 April.
