India’s Purav Raja’s campaign at Wimbledon came to an end after he and his Japanese partner Eri Hozumi lost 2-6, 5-7 to veteran doubles player Daniel Nestor (Canada) and his partner Andreja Klepac (Slovenia) in the second round of the mixed doubles draw at Wimbledon on Monday.
Purav Raja and his men’s doubles partner Divij Sharan had lost to Raven Klaasen and Rajeev Ram in the second round on Saturday.
Raja and Hozumi never found their rhythm in the match. They failed to put their opponents under pressure, as they earned only two break points, of which they didn’t convert any.
Whereas, Nestor and Klepac broke their opponent’s serve thrice in the entire match. The Canada-Slovenia pair wrapped up the match in just one hour and seven minutes.
