After a series of events, former Indian Olympic Association president Suresh Kalmadi declined IOA’s post of Life President, which was awarded to him on Wednesday.
Kalmadi and another tainted official and former IOA president Abhay Singh Chautala were appointed unanimously by the members of the Indian Olympic Association.
Sports Minister Vijay Goel and former sports minister Ajay Maken were furious about the resolution passed by the IOA.
The Sports Ministry issued a showcause notice to IOA, saying all ties would be cut off until Kalmadi and Chautala are removed.
