In the latest developments pertaining to the Australian Cricket team’s ball tampering episode, Cricket Australia’s CEO James Sutherland said that only Steve Smith, David Warner and Cameron Bancroft had previous knowledge of the ball-tampering plan during the Cape Town Test against South Africa.

The trio have been asked to return to Australia, discontinuing their stint in the series against South Africa.

Sutherland also clarified that the team’s coach Darren Lehmann had no knowledge of the plan, and hence would continue in his position.

And as expected, netizens across the globe took to Twitter to express their disbelief over Sutherland’s announcement, particularly the board’s denial of Lehmann’s involvement.

Former English cricketer Kevin Pietersen had just one thing to say:

Kaif termed the trio’s return to Australia as ‘Ghar Wapsi’.

Several others refused to believe that the rest of the team was caught unawares in the scandal.
