No, Anushka was not the reason Virat scored just a run in the semi-final loss to Australia. No, India’s cricket crazy fans and their superstitions had not taken a toll on their relationship.
But in a first of sorts, a fellow cricketer has voiced his support for the star couple in a rare show a strength. Yuvraj Singh may not have been part of the Indian squad at the World Cup but he has stepped up and asked the Indian public to leave the couple alone and respect their personal life.
The 33-year-old, who himself was famously in a relationship with Bollywood actress Kim Sharma many years ago, also chose to tweet about Virat Kohli’s batting performance at the World Cup.
Critics have hit out at the Indian Test skipper after he managed to score just one century in India’s eight World Cup matches.
India were knocked out of the World Cup after losing the semi-final to eventual Champions Australia by 95 runs.
