LA Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant announced his retirement on Sunday on The Players’ Tribune website.

The 37-year-old, who won five NBA championships with the Lakers in a career spanning over 20 years said that this NBA season will be his final one.

Bryant’s announcement was addressed by Lakers coach Byron Scott before the Indiana Pacers game on Sunday.

With 17 NBA All-Star selections, an NBA MVP, five NBA championships with the Lakers, two Olympic gold medals and a relentless work ethic, Kobe Bryant is one of the greatest players in the history of our game.
