Justice Lodha Committee’s report was a huge setback for franchises Rajasthan Royals, Chennai Super Kings and their respective owners. Both India Cements and Raj Kundra are planning to approach the Supreme Court seeking a review of the committee’s decision on the penalty they received.
Meanwhile, senior BJP leader and former Union law minister Dr. Subramanian Swamy has already issued a statement seeking a review saying the committee’s decision was “excessively harsh on Tamilian pride.”
In his statement Dr. Swamy observes that N Srinivasan is held in “high esteem for his courageous isolation from Cricket of the “Dubai gang”.
