The BCCI president Anurag Thakur said, the Indian team’s head coach will be announced on Thursday, according to Cricket Country.

The name of the coach will be announced by 5 pm. I will be meeting [Ajay] Shirke and [Sourav] Ganguly now and [will] study their report. By 5 pm today, we will name the new coach.
Anurag Thakur told ABP Live

The final decision regarding India’s head coach was taken by the three-member advisory committee comprising Sourav Ganguly, Sachin Tendulkar and VVS Laxman on Tuesday, but no name was disclosed.

After 21 out of the 57 applicants were shortlisted for the coaching job, the advisory committee interviewed only seven of them. According to sources, Ravi Shastri, Anil Kumble, Pravin Ambre, Lalchand Rajput, Stuart law, Andy Moles and Tom Moody were interviewed by the committee.

The seven applicants were asked to deliver presentations before they attended personal interviews.

Sourav Ganguly was asked whether the advisory committee spoke to India’s limited-overs captain MS Dhoni and Test captain Virat Kohli before making their decision, he said:

No, we haven’t. We have been empowered to finalise the coach and we have done it without consulting the captains.
