New Zealand wrapped up their final World T20 group game with a thumping 75-run victory over Bangladesh at Kolkata on Saturday. They have beaten every team in their group going into the semi-finals.

Bangladesh on the other hand couldn’t manage to get on board in the Super 10 stage.

New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson (42) strung two important partnerships of 25 and 32 runs at the top of the order with Henry Nicholls and Colin Munro respectively.

Colin Munro and Ross Taylor put together 42 runs to take New Zealand’s score to 99/3 after 14.5 overs.

Then the Bangladeshi bowlers started picking wickets at regular intervals. New Zealand lost five wickets for 40 runs.

Mustafizur Rahman was the pick of the bowlers, who took five wickets for 22 runs.

Bangladesh’s Reply

The Bangladesh batsmen never got going while chasing New Zealand’s 145/8. Tamim Iqbal was run out in the second over with just four runs on the board.

The Bangladesh batsmen batted without a plan and kept getting out in quick succession.

Grant Elliott and Ish Sodhi picked up three wickets each as Bangladesh were bundled out for 70, which is their lowest total in T20Is.
