Indian skipper Virat Kohli’s recent ‘leave India’ controversy had sparked the debate about the captain’s attitude and whether he gets his way with everything. Well, former India captain Bishan Singh Bedi think so.

Last year, a rift between former head coach Anil Kumble and Kohli had resulted in the former stepping down from his role. Then too, questions had been raised.

“That is what I am saying, one person (Virat Kohli) is doing all he wants and we are letting it happen. What would Anil (Kumble) have said, he was gracious to leave it like that,” Bishan Singh Bedi said at Sahitya Aaj Tak said, as reported by India Today.

Bedi praised Kohli’s intensity on the field, but said it was a lot more than his team’s.

“In my humble opinion, there is hardly anyone more intense than Kohli, but there is a world of difference in his intensity and the team’s. Similarly, Virat Kohli as a player and Virat Kohli as a captain, there is a world of difference.”

Eyeing a maiden Test series win Down Under, the Indian cricket team left for Australia Friday for a gruelling tour, which will see them play four matches in whites, three ODIs and as many T20 Internationals.

Experts and former players are seeing this tour as India's best bet to defeat Australia in Tests as the hosts will be without their two key batsman, Steve Smith and David Warner, who are facing a year long ban for their involvement in ball tampering scandal in South Africa.

Bedi didn’t go as far to say they would win, but did say the Indian team travelling to Australia was ‘good’.

“The Indian team is good, we all know that, but the same team went to England and South Africa and those teams were also “weak”. Yes, the bans have happened on two kids, but a team is not made of two individuals.

“In fact, our team is made of one person, everything is about Kohli. The amount of focus there is, you don’t realise how much pressure you are putting on that kid [Kohli], both as a batsman and a captain,” he added.
