US President-elect Donald Trump on Tuesday, true to form, tweeted his childish displeasure about a photo of him used by CNN as cover art for a new book about the 2016 US Presidential election.
The tweet says: “@CNN just released a book called “Unprecedented” which explores the 2016 race & victory. Hope it does well but used worst cover photo of me!”
The offending photo? Probably this one:
But there is another version of the book’s cover – an ‘inaugural edition’ featuring a smug-looking Trump:
Written by CNN writer Thomas Lake, the book follows the election race and chronicles Trump’s surprising win.
CNN's website describes the book as a ‘deeply reported account’ on the fight for the presidency between Trump – “a blustery billionaire and reality TV star with no military or government experience, no respect for the rules of politics and no fear of offending people” – and former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Surprisingly (or perhaps not...), it is the picture and not the description of him that drew his irritation.
He didn’t specify which particular cover he was referring to... but one can probably make an educated guess based on the number of chins visible in the respective photos.
