- Chinese President Xi Jinping on Friday offered to allow more Indian pilgrims to Kailash and Manasarovar in Tibet through Nathulla in Sikkim during his talks with Pranab Mukherjee in Beijing.
- Last year, China had opened the new route via Nathulla Pass which permitted 250 people in seven batches every year.
- The expansion in the number of pilgrims allowed is expected to be finalised after talks between the two countries, officials said.
