A 27-year old man attacked passengers with a knife at a train station in Munich in southern Germany early on Tuesday, leaving one man dead and at least three wounded, Bavarian radio reported.
Police are investigating eyewitness statements that the perpetrator shouted, “Allahu Akbar” (God is Great) during the attack, Bayerischer Rundfunk reported.
German media said police have arrested the perpetrator and that the victims were all men. The police were not immediately reachable for comment when contacted by Reuters.
Germany, which is playing a supporting role in the fight against Islamic State (ISIS), has not suffered a major attack by Islamist militants, the likes of which neighbouring France and Belgium have experienced.
