PM Narendra Modi launched the Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana to provide the poor and underprivileged with banking facilities. Direct funds would be provided through various government schemes and policies, he promised. However, despite the initial good response and the fact that about 15.5 crore bank accounts were opened, the entirety of the funds haven’t seen the light of day yet.

PM Modi’s ambitious Make in India campaign was launched amid much fanfare and hype. During his foreign visits, Modi made it a priority to promote this campaign to bring in foreign investment and focus on Indian manufacturing.

The Make in India campaign intends to ensure India becomes THE manufacturing destination of the 21st century.

In October, PM Modi launched the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan for a clean India. His appeal was also directed towards corporations. 

One of the Modi government’s principle social schemes is the Beti Bachao Yojna, under which one is required to open an account upon the birth of a girl child and deposit funds in her name. The income is tax-free, meant for the girl child when she grows up to adulthood.
