Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has moved a resolution asking the Delhi Assembly to discuss the situation arising out of the recent CBI raids. He said that it is not just political opponents, but also MPs within the BJP who have made allegations against Jaitley.

Sisodia was referring to the issues raised by Kirti Azad on the DDCA corruption issue.

BJP leader and the Leader of Opposition Vijendra Gupta said the Delhi Assembly shall not discuss the DDCA scam as the matter is sub-judice.

The Delhi assembly speaker suppressed Gupta saying that the notice was sent on a defamation case and not a corruption case.

Meanwhile, the BJP is likely to issue a showcause notice to party MP Kirti Azad for his attack on Arun Jaitley over alleged financial irregularities in Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) during his tenure, reports say.

The notice is likely to be issued after the Parliament session ends on Wednesday.

Azad has decided to skip Tuesday’s BJP parliamentary meet.

Former cricketer, Azad has been vocal about alleged corruption in the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA).

On Monday night, Azad denied a tweet sent from his Twitter account to Jaitley, calling him the Hindi parallel of effeminate – napunsak. Azad later claimed his account was hacked.

Party leaders though termed it as a mere excuse. “Twitter account being hacked is an excuse,” BJP leader Siddharth Nath Singh said.

On Sunday, Azad had also screened a video by WikiLeaks. Jaitley has been central to the DDCA row after Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal allegations of corruption in the DDCA under Jaitley’s leadership.

Jaitley was the chief of the cricket association between 1999 and 2013. Following demands for his resignation by Kejriwal’s Aam aadmi Party (AAP) and Congress party, Jaitley has slapped defamation charges against six members of AAP, including Kejriwal.

The subject caused furore in Parliament when Jaitley demanded a debate in the ongoing winter session. Kirti Azad had challenged Jaitley to file defamation charged against him as well.

Meanwhile, BJP Chief Amit Shah has come out in support of Jaitley saying that the DDCA row was being used to divert attention from the defamation lawsuit on Kejriwal.
