Another twist in the investigation of Sunanda Pushkar’s mysterious death.

News reports indicate the Delhi Police is thinking of summoning Mehr Tarar, a Pakistani Journalist who is a friend of Shashi Tharoor’s.

Days prior to her death, Pushkar had a highly public Twitter spat with Tarar. The latter’s friendship with the Congress MP had reportedly upset Pushkar, to the extent that she accused Tarar of having an affair with her husband.

As Pushkar died a day after the spat, the police believe that the Pakistani journalist is an integral part of the case.

Delhi Police Commissioner BS Bassi has said that they will call her for questioning, if needed.

According to reports, Tharoor, when questioned by the police, was also quizzed about his alleged relationship with Tarar.

The Pakistani journalist herself says she is open to any questions. “I will cooperate with the Delhi Police in the probe. I am happy to help in any way I can with their investigation, but I won’t come to India for questioning,” Tarar said, as reported by CNN-IBN.

Tarar however says the Delhi Police are yet to contact her.

She also admitted that she regrets getting into the Twitter spat with Pushkar. “Answering Sunanda on Twitter was a big mistake, I should have refrained from it,” she said.

Pushkar was found dead in a five-star hotel in south Delhi on the night of 17 January 2014.

The Delhi Police had questioned Tharoor last month.
