1. Sex Racket busted in Delhi

A 62-year-old was arrested by the Delhi police on Thursday in connection with a sex racket operating from a house in the capital’s Safdarjung Enclave.

Accused Pritindra Nath Sanyal was nabbed after cops were tipped off by income tax officials, who had earlier found an Uzbek woman confined to Sanyal’s house during a raid in June.

The woman alleged that she was made to attend to high-profile guests, including politicians and Army officers.

2. ‘Drunk’ BSP Leader’s Son Booked for Causing Ruckus

Former Uttar Pradesh minister and BSP leader Haji Yakub Qureshi’s son and his three friends were booked in Meerut for a scuffle they had with passersby.

They are suspected to have been under the influence of alcohol.

Four of them were booked under Section 34 (act done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the IPC and sent for medical examination. Being a bailable offence, all four of them were released after they signed a personal bond each.

3. Woman Gangraped in Karnal, 3 Arrested

A married woman was allegedly gangraped by three youngsters in a hotel in Karnal district of Haryana on Thursday.

This comes only days after a college student was raped for the second time by the same perpetrators who gang raped her three years ago.

The main accused called the woman to Karnal yesterday and once she arrived, he took her to a hotel where he was joined by two of his accomplices in the crime.

4. 23-Year-Old Jeweller Shot Dead in Dadri

A 23-year old jeweller was shot dead by two motorcycle-borne assailants near his shop on Thursday morning in Dadri.

The deceased was identified as Varun Verma, son of Roopchand Verma, who owns two jewellery shops in Dadri market.

Motive for the crime hasn’t been ascertained yet, but the police have initiated an investigation.

5. Man Murders Wife, Father-in-Law in Andhra Pradesh

A man hacked his wife and father-in-law to death in Chatrai Mandal of Krishna district in Andhra Pradesh on Thursday.

The accused K Subramanyam, murdered his wife V Vijaya (25) and father-in-law V Venkateswara Rao (55), before fleeing the house.

Police have said they suspect that family dispute is the motive, but cannot be sure till an investigation is launched.

6. Rs 37 Lakh Looted From 2 Employees Of Delhi Trader

In an alarming case of daylight robbery, two employees of a trader in northwest Delhi’s Pitampura area were looted by four men on motorbikes on Thursay.

Police confirmed that the employees were going to deposit Rs 37 lakh in a bank when they were robbed.

The whole incident was captured on CCTV and a case has been registered, police said.

7. After Stealing 100 Cars, Thief Finally Driven to Jail

The anti-auto theft squad of West Delhi nabbed Robin, a car lifter, after receiving a tip off about his hideout on Thursday.

Inspired by ‘superchor’ Bunty, on whom the film Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye! was based, Robin has stolen over 100 high-end automobiles already.

Police said he has been committing crimes for 14 years, but moved into car-lifting recently, after meeting master car-jacker Manoj Bakkarwala in jail.

He targeted only posh colonies and house owners who were out on a morning walk. He entered their homes, stole car keys and drove away without blinking twice. He operated in Delhi, Haryana, UP, Chandigarh and Punjab

8. CBI Arrests Sub-Inspector of Delhi Police in Bribery Case

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday arrested sub-inspector Tilak Singh Pal, posted at Delhi’s Nihal Vihar police station for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 70,000.

A case under of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 was registered against Pal.

9. Delhi Police Constable Shot at by 2 Youngsters

A 27-year-old Delhi police constable was shot at by two youngsters after he reprimanded them for rash driving near Delhi’s Tilak Nagar area.

This is a clear case of road rage. We will arrest the two youths who shot at the constable.
