Former Minister Gayatri Prajapati gets bail in the rape case he had been charged with earlier in 2017. The development come month after the arrest.
The Samajwadi Party leader was accused of gangrape, following which he was remanded to judicial custody for 14 days in March. He was arrested from Lucknow after absconding for 17 days.
Three more accomplices, including his son and nephew, were also detained by the UP Police in connection with the case.
Prajapati was booked on a Supreme Court directive and an FIR was lodged on 17 February against the former minister and six others for allegedly gangraping a woman and attempting to rape her minor daughter.
A look-out notice and a non-bailable warrant had been issued against the leader. His passport too has been impounded.
