The chief of Thane police Param Bir Singh told TOI that Pandit’s role was clearly established in the racket, and all those evolved in the racket would soon be apprehended.

Pandit was produced before court in Thane on Saturday, and sent to police custody till 7 February. The daughter of a retired IPS officer, the 54-year-old had allegedly sourced the documents of at least five persons for her client, the daily reported.

The deputy commissioner of police Abhishek Trimukhe told TOI that two other detectives had been arrested from Navi Mumbai, based on leads from Pandit’s arrest.

Pandit’s statement has been recorded and we are questioning her for any leads in the racket, which seems to be much bigger.

Apart from the nexus in Mumbai, the police said that they have also traced a similar case in Delhi, where a man was allegedly supplying Pandit with CDRs for a heavy sum. The police also added that they would now begin analysis on the CDRs seized and summon the concerned persons.
