2. On Dimple Kapadia’s 60th B’day, Fans Get Nostalgic About ‘Bobby’

Can you believe that it’s been 44 years since Dimple Kapadia first appeared on the big screen? Her debut film, Bobby (1973), with Rishi Kapoor, established her as Bollywood’s most exciting young face. Fans flocked to the theatres to catch a glimpse of her, while her outfits in the film made her a fashion icon overnight.

Bobby went on to gain cult status, and everyone was sure Dimple was the next big thing in tinsel town. But she took a hiatus, only to return to the screen over a decade later with Saagar (1985).

4. Bhim Army Chief, Accused in Saharanpur Violence, Arrested by STF

Thirty-year-old Chandrashekhar, leader of the Bhim Army and the main accused in the recent Saharanpur violence in Uttar Pradesh, has been arrested by the state’s Special Task Force.

5. UK Elections Live: Final Poll Shows Conservatives’ Lead Widening

A final opinion poll published on Thursday, as Britons vote in a national election, showed incumbent Prime Minister Theresa May's Conservatives widening their lead to 8 percentage points from a 5 point lead in its previous survey.

The Ipsos MORI poll published in the London Evening Standard showed the Conservatives' share of the vote up to 46 percent from 45 percent from their last survey published on June 2. The main opposition Labour party was shown on 36 percent, down from 40 percent. Read the full story here.
