1. Bihar Poll Dates Announced, Political Parties Say They Are Ready for Battle
The Election Commission has announced that the Bihar polls will be held over five phases from October 12 to November 5, 2015. Counting of votes will take place on November 8, 2015. Dr Nasir Zaidi, the Chief Election Commissioner has said that paramilitary forces will be present at each booth to ensure a peaceful election.

Mumbai police claims the Sheena Bora investigation team will not be changed after Rakesh Maria’s ouster. However, top sources in the Mumbai police have confirmed to The Quint that Rakesh Maria is no longer interested in leading the investigation. Sources have also indicated that Maria’s ‘promotion’ was not political, but motivated by the IPS lobby in Maharashtra. While Maria and his team were shunted out of the probe, the SP of Raigad despite a botched investigation continues to hold his position.

Two women who had alleged that they had been tortured, sexually assaulted and kept in bondage for months, were rescued from the Gurgaon home of a diplomat from Saudi Arabia who employed them as house helps.
