1. Hyderabad Lawyer Harasses Delhi Woman, Held
An advocate was arrested by ‘SHE Teams’ of Hyderabad police for allegedly harassing a woman from Delhi by sending her abusive and vulgar messages.
Accused M Abhishek and his friends had unsuccessfully tried to strike communication with the woman who had come to attend a programme at Gachibowli here last month, Additional Commissioner of Police (Crimes and SIT) Swati Lakra said.
However, when she did not respond, they took her business card from other persons and since then Abhishek allegedly started sending her text messages asking her to respond and make friends with him, Lakra said.
The woman then submitted a complaint to “SHE Teams”, the unit tasked with cracking down on eve-teasers and stalkers, and a case was registered. Abhishek arrested after investigation, ACP Swati Lakra said.

2. Eyewitness in Gangrape Case Shot Dead in UP
A 25-year-old shopkeeper, who was an eyewitness to the gangrape of his sister last year, was shot dead by two unidentified assailants in Miranpur town. Noor Mohammad died on the spot in his shop.
A case of murder has been registered against six persons including Sagir, Mintu, Wakil, Shaista Begum, Praveen, Superintendent of Police Rakesh Jolly said.
Noor had filed a case against the accused after the gangrape incident on January 23 last year.

3. Goa NCP Leader’s Brother Stabbed
Brother of Goa NCP spokesperson Trajano D’Mello was stabbed in Parra town in Goa.
According to PTI Francis Richard D’Mello (52), younger brother of Trajano, was stabbed in the stomach near a church in Parra, 10 km away from Panaji.
When the incident happened, he was riding a scooter alone. An unknown man stabbed him and took away the scooter, his mobile and cash. I am not attributing any motive right now as he had been operated upon and is under heavy sedation.Trajano D’Mello
Richard was first taken to the district hospital in Mapusa town from where he was later shifted to Goa Medical College in Panaji. Police have registered a case of attempt to murder.
4. Cong Leader Booked For Alleged Fraud & Forgery
Police, on Wednesday, booked seven persons including Congress leader and former chairman of Phagwara Improvement Trust, Balbir Raja Sodhi, on charges of alleged fraud and forgery in the allotment of the Trust’s properties.
On a complaint lodged by Trust’s present executive officer Surinder Kumari, police registered the case against Sodhi, former executive officer Jatinder Singh, Amarjit Singh (retired superintendent), former ATE Rakesh Kumar, former dead draftsman Rajeev Kumar, former assistant Kulwant Singh and former clerk Narinder Sharma, a PTI report says.
Police booked them under Sections 420 (cheating), 465 (forgery), 468 (forgery for purpose of cheating), 471(using as genuine a forged document),120-B(punishment of criminal conspiracy) of IPC.
5. Minor Girl Gangraped in Thane; Five Arrested
A 13-year-old girl was allegedly gangraped by some youths in Kalyan region of the district, following which five persons have been arrested.
The accused were identified as Samip Patil, Prathamesh Bhoir, Vinayak Patil, Nilesh Kale and Mayuresh Patil, police said.
The incident occurred on the evening of February 15, when the minor girl was alone at her residence, Thane Police PRO Gajanan Kabdule said.
A case has been registered against the five accused under relevant sections of the IPC and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, he said.
Further investigation is on by Khadakpada police, he said.

6. Minor Girl Raped in Bareilly
An eight-year-old girl was allegedly kidnapped and raped by a youth in Meerganj area, police.
According to a PTI report, the minor was lured by the accused and taken to a jungle and raped on Tuesday.. The girl was taken to a community health centre from where she was referred to the district hospital, Senior Superintendent of Police R K Bharadwaj said.
Her condition is stated to be serious, he said
7. Two Mutilated Bodies Found in Jaipur
Mutilated bodies of two youth were found on Wednesday in different and deserted places in Jaipur.
Twenty-year-old Meetha Lal Bairwa’s body was spotted by passers-by at a dumping ground in Joshi colony on Wednesday morning, a senior police officer of Subhash Chowk Thana said.
He said another body of an unidentified man was found in Karnivihar area. Prima facie, both cases seem to be that of murder, said the police. Meetha’s body has signs of strangulation whereas blood stains were spotted in Karnivihar at the place from where the unidentified body was recovered, the senior police official said.

8. Man in Nashik Shot Dead Over Old Feud
A 35-year-old man was shot dead in Nashik allegedly over an old enmity. Police are searching for four persons in connection with the case, a PTI report said.

The Complaint was filed by the deceased’s wife. A search is on for the four accused, said Bhagat. The four accused were identified as Rohit, Mayur Bed, Sanjay Bed and Vinod Salve.
9. Jeep Robbers Mow Down Bike-Borne Person in Rajasthan
A bike-borne person was mowed down and the pillion rider injured by a jeep in which robbers were escaping after stealing the vehicle.
According to the PTI report, the robbers stole the jeep from a religious function in Kothun area of Chaksu on Tuesday night and were fleeing when the accident happened, police said. The motorcycle rider, identified as Raju Meena, was killed while Prathviraj Gurjar who was riding pillion was injured and sent to Jaipur’s government hospital, police said.
