Continuing the probe into the murder of journalist Gauri Lankesh, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) officials questioned her brother Indrajit Lankesh in detail on Wednesday.

The questioning was based on the complaint Gauri had filed in 2005 accusing Indrajit of threatening her at gunpoint over a property dispute.

“We are trying to check the weapon Indrajit had and he is not cooperating with investigations," a senior police officer said. The 'non-cooperation' could be due to personal ego issues with Indrajit questioning how a brother can be quizzed over his own sister's death, which the police could understand.

CCTV footage recovered from the school has shown that the security guard, who was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly molesting a four-year-old girl, was innocent of the charges. While the four-year-old girl from a private school, her mother and the doctor claimed that the child was sexually assaulted, the CCTV footage shows that the guard was not the perpetrator.

The victim, an LKG student in a private school, had vomited and was feeling uneasy after returning from school. Her mother took her to the doctor, who after talking to the victim and examination, confirmed sexual assault.
