BJP MP RK Singh made a scathing statement against his own party members External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Rajasthan CM Vasundhara Raje. Singh said that the extending help to a fugitive from law such as Lalit Modi is not acceptable.

This is wrong legally as well as morally. If anybody meets a fugitive, it is absolutely wrong. Whosoever has helped him, I think it is completely wrong.
– RK Singh, BJP Leader

Singh said Lalit Modi had been evading judicial warrants and summons and he was clearly a fugitive. He did not name either Swaraj or Raje.

RK Singh’s comments come a day after Union Minister Nitin Gadkari met Raje in Jaipur and said the “accusations” against her have “no substance”. He also said that she is “legally, logically, ethically completely correct”.

The Congress has said that Prime Minister Modi was “losing political capital” by trying to protect the two party leaders through his continued silence on the “indefensible issue”.

I’m glad someone in the BJP is speaking the truth. We’ve always said that no leader should help an absconder. We maintain that Rajasthan CM Vasundhara Raje and External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj must resign.
– Sachin Pilot, Rajasthan Congress Leader

Swaraj and Raje have been facing flak for helping Lalit Modi in procuring travel documents in the UK, a country which he has made his home to avoid legal processes in India.
