On the ocassion of World Youth Skills Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Skill India initiative aiming to reduce poverty in India.
According to the PM, India has the potential to provide a workforce of about 4 to 5 crore to the world.
He emphasised regular interactions between industry and technology experts, along with with a plan for the next 10 years.
He wishes to make India the ‘human resource capital’ of the world just as China is the ‘manufacturing factory’ of the world.
People of India have huge capabilities and this has been recognised the worldover since centuries. We have forgotten the skills. We have to regain those.

Several union ministers and Chief Ministers of various states were at the launch of the Skill India initiative.
