Pak Violates Ceasefire in Poonch Sector, Indian Army Returns Fire

This is the second incident of ceasefire violation in Poonch this month.

  • Fresh incidents of violation of the ceasefire along the LoC by Pakistan have been reported on Wednesday when Pakistani troops resorted to unprovoked firing in Saujian in the Poonch sector of Kashmir.
  • According to a report published in the Hindustan Times, the firing started at around 5.30pm. Indian posts retaliated to the aggression with equal force, with no reported casualties to them.
  • This is the second such incident in the area this month. Earlier on 7 September, Pakistani forces killed one civilian and injured seven others after they fired on forward posts along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch, Jammu & Kashmir.
