Nestle’s Maggi is not the only brand of instant noodles that is unhealthy for you, according to recent Food Security and Safety Authority of India (FSSAI)‘s test reports.

12 samples of noodle brands like Top Ramen, Ching’s, Foodles and Tops were tested for Monosodium Glutamate (MSG) content and FSSAI found MSG in noodle brands that do not even mention MSG in their contents.

A total of six samples of Top Ramen were sent.

All the five samples (Top Ramen) had MSG present in them, but the list of ingredients given on the packet had no mention of MSG. It’s a case of misbranding.
– KK Jindal, Commissioner, Food Department, Delhi

According to an India Today report, the samples were sent for tests a week ago and the reports will be sent to the concerned authority on Monday.

What else has impermissible amount of MSG in it? How many food products will FSSAI check?

How did these products get past the FSSAI in the first place?
