This seems to be the Vishwa Hindu Parishad's (VHP) message, as it is all set to hold a Virat Dharma Sabha on Sunday, December 2, at the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) ground at Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) in Bandra (E), to mobilise Mumbai's support on the Ram Mandir issue.

The Maharashtra government on Thursday, 29 November, proposed 16 percent reservation for Marathas under socially and educationally backward category.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis tabled in the state Assembly the action taken report (ATR) on the State Backward Class Commission's (SBCC) recommendations for reservation to the Maratha community in government jobs and education.

Accused Ashish Pandya, who had sustained a firearm injury during the alleged fake encounter of Tulsiram Prajapati on 28 December, 2006, told the court that the encounter was genuine.

Pandya made submissions during the recording of his statement under Section 313 of the Criminal Procedure Code, under which accused are given an opportunity to defend allegations against them.

Shee married our son, refused intimacy, filed a dowry harassment case, and turned out to be 'male' in the birth registry records. This is the story a Mumbai-based family tells of their daughter-in-law.

An MBA graduate and a paediatric doctor had got married in Delhi in November 2013 through a matrimonial site. The woman allegedly didn't allow physical intimacy post marriage. She was hesitant to go on a honeymoon and returned earlier than scheduled. The man's parents ultimately approached the woman's parents, and even checked her birth registry, where she was registered as a 'male'.

5. Shivaji Memorial: Report on Boat Accident in 15 Days

The state government on Thursday promised that a probe into the capsizing of a speedboat off the Mumbai coastline when it was enroute to the site of the proposed Shivaji memorial will be completed within 15 days.

Shiv Sena legislator Anil Parab raised the issue in the Legislative Council, contending that overcrowding and lack of life jackets was observed on the speedboat that capsized, resulting death of one man on 24 October. Peasants and Workers Party (PWP) legislator Jayant Patil said a case of culpable homicide should be filed against the owner of the boat and the person who had taken the boat on rent.

6. Three injured in Borivali fire

Three persons, including two minors, were injured in a fire that broke out in a house at IC colony in Borivali on Thursday, 29 November. Disaster management officials said the injured were taken to Shatabdi hospital.

The fire broke out around 7.45 pm on Thursday. Officials said they were yet to ascertain the cause behind the blaze.

A BMC spokesperson said: “Nobody from the spot informed us. The hospital authorities called and gave us information following which a team was sent to the spot.”

7. Firefighter Dies While Trying to Douse Blaze at Food Joint

A fireman was killed and another personnel received injuries while trying to douse a blaze that broke out at a restaurant in Maharashtra's Thane district in the early hours of Thursday, 29 November, an official said.

The fire brigade got a call around 1 am about the blaze. A team of six firemen from the Aadharwadi fire station then rushed to the spot. While they were trying to put out the flames, an explosion took place at the food joint, killing fireman Jagan Amle (57) on the spot, Chowdhary said.
