Jammu and Kashmir Governor NN Vohra met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Friday and discussed with him the security situation in the Valley.
The meeting was held at the Prime Minister's Office and lasted about 45 minutes. Vohra discussed the continuing unrest in parts of the Kashmir Valley, official sources said.
He also informed the Prime Minister about the development work being carried out in Jammu and Kashmir, they said.
Vohra had on 2 May met Home Minister Rajnath Singh and apprised him of the security situation in the state.
The Valley has been witnessing a fresh bout of violence in the last few days. South Kashmir, especially, has seen a spate of attacks on banks, in Shopian and Pulwama districts.
Militants had on 4 May attacked an army patrol, killing a civilian and injuring three personnel, during a massive operation involving 4,000 troops by the security forces to clear South Kashmir of terrorists.
CRPF IG Ravideep Sahi on Friday declared that as “South Kashmir is hot, with local militants joining outfits, the (combing) operation was important”. He further said that the “operation was carried out successfully”.
