Senior employees of IT giant Infosys have allegedly been receiving vulgar emails defaming the company.
Santosh Nair, a senior executive on behalf of Infosys, filed a complaint on Tuesday with the Cyber Crime Police, Deccan Herald reported.
According to the complaint filed by Santosh, a man named Alpesh Patel, had on 26 July, sent emails with vulgar and defamatory content to the company’s Chief Financial Officer MD Ranganath, Head of Investor Relations Sandeep Mahindroo, and the Company Secretary Manikantha AGS, The Hindu reported.
Aplesh Patel had used a yahoo email ID to send the mails to the senior staff.

In these emails, Aplesh said that he had written to former President Pranab Mukherjee and his US counterpart Donald Trump about Infosys.
The emails said that he had asked the US government not to give any work to Infosys as they are spreading terrorism in society, the DH report says.
Cyber Crime Police, attached to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), have registered a case under section 67 (punishment for publishing or transmitting obscene material in electronic form) of Information Technology Act 2008.

According to The Hindu, police have assured that they will catch the culprit. They are trying to track down Aplesh through the IP address from which he sent these emails. They suspect that the accused is a disgruntled employee, who wanted to harass the top executives to settle scores.
The case attracts a jail term of up to three years and Rs 5 lakh in fine if the accused is found guilty of the offence for the first time.
For subsequent convictions, there is a jail term can be up to five years with a Rs 10 lakh fine.
